Greenbrae

A Laid Back Community With Bay Views

With its sunny weather and central Marin County location, Greenbrae is a big draw for homebuyers who want proximity to abundant open space and modern amenities. Conveniently located near the Larkspur Landing ferry terminal and about 20 miles from downtown San Francisco, Greenbrae is a convenient community for Marin County commuters.

Greenbrae began as a model community, planned and developed by late builder Niels Schultz in the 1940s. Great care was taken to retain the original oak trees that graced its rolling hillsides. Many homes in the community offer lushly landscaped private yards and lovely views of San Francisco Bay, Corte Madera Creek, and Mount Tamalpais. Homes in Greenbrae’s flats are a short stroll to neighborhood parks, bike paths, and the Bon Air Center. Greenbrae’s waterfront condos combine natural beauty with easy living.

Before heading to work, residents often stop by the Bon Air Center for coffee at Peet’s or a fresh bagel. On a sunny afternoon, you’ll find dozens of shoppers lingering at Bon Air’s outdoor tables over a sandwich from one of the center’s many eateries and a good book. Greenbrae’s Marin General Hospital adds the convenience of nearby physicians and medical facilities.

The 2,574-foot peak of Mount Tamalpais provides a dramatic backdrop for the community. The mountain’s miles of trails wind through redwood groves, while oak woodlands invite hikers of all abilities. A multi-use path ambles beside Corte Madera Creek, giving Greenbrae’s residents a welcome place to stretch their legs and observe wood ducks and egrets.
